Miss Vermont 2019 is Jillian Fisher of Burlington. Jillian is a rising senior at the University of Vermont, working towards a degree in Animal Science.
On May 17th 2020, Jillian graduated from the University of Vermont. She has been accepted into the Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. In August of 2020, she continues her journey to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Her dream is to open a mixed animal practice in Vermont.
Through her passion for animals and desire to be a Veterinarian, Jillian has discovered her love of cows! In the summer of 2019 you can find her at the UVM dairy barn as the CREAM student advisor. She has delivered over 30 calves, and has had her entire arm inside a cow’s stomach!
Jillian’s desire to help living beings does not stop at animals. Her Social Impact Statement is “Fighting Addiction” and was formed through her family’s experience with the opioid crisis. Throughout her year of service, Jillian will educate people on the reality of substance abuse in Vermont and the resources available. It is Jillian’s goal to provide opportunities for people to become certified in Narcan administration.
Jillian competed for the title of Miss America 2020 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Montville, CT in December 2019.
