Miss Vermont’s Outstanding Teen 2021 is Emma Anderson, a 17-year-old recent graduate of Champlain Valley Union High School. Emma graduated with honors from CVU in just three years.
In the fall of 2021, Emma will attend Saint Michael’s College in Colchester Vermont to begin pursuing a degree in secondary education and history. Following Emma’s phenomenal high school career, that she completed with a 4.03 GPA, she has been awarded the SMC Purple & Gold Merit Scholarship.
An avid dancer, Emma performed a tap dance routine to “Another Day of Sun” from Oscar-winning “La La Land” to win the title of Miss Vermont’s Outstanding Teen. She hopes to have a career as a Secondary Education ELA teacher. Education has been a major part of her life and she formed her platform, in part, around this passion. Throughout her year of service, she will promote her platform, “Necessity, Not Luxury: Increasing Access to Menstrual Products” which aims to increase access to menstrual care supplies, and advocate for an end to the taxes attached to these items.
Emma will compete for the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2021 in Orlando, Florida in July.
